Day 1: Hanoi to Mai Chau (140 km)
Kick off from Hanoi’s chaos, carving west on QL6’s backroads through Hoa Binh’s rolling hills and tight bends to Mai Chau’s stilt-house valleys. Hit 2:30 PM—sip rice wine with White Thai locals and soak in the emerald calm.Day 2: Mai Chau to Hoang Mai (225 km)
Head east on DT530, then north via QL15’s snaking rural roads—twisting past rice paddies and limestone peaks—to Hoang Mai, a gritty coastal stop. Arrive by 2:30 PM—savor fresh crab and bia hoi (fresh beer) by the sea.Day 3: Hoang Mai to Phong Nha (290 km)
Ride south on QL1’s quieter detours, then west via DT20 through jungle-clad hills to Phong Nha’s cave country—sharp turns and wild vibes. Land by 2:30 PM—dig into grilled pork and rice noodles with your crew.Day 4: Rest Day in Phong Nha
No saddle today—explore Phong Nha’s limestone caves, kayak the Son River, or kick back with a cold larue beer and the gang.Day 5: Phong Nha to Khe Sanh (250 km)
Tackle the Ho Chi Minh Trail’s western branch (QL9)—rugged, winding passes through misty mountains—to Khe Sanh’s war-scarred plains. By 2:30 PM, it’s spicy duck and rice liquor at a local joint.Day 6: Khe Sanh to Da Nang (280 km)
